✦ When Next.js makes sense
Custom code, only where it pays off.
Next.js is the right choice when speed, flexibility or a custom feature matters more than an off-the-shelf CMS — a site that has to load instantly, a headless store, or a portal your customers log in to.
For a simpler marketing site, Webflow or WordPress may be quicker to launch and cheaper to run, and we'll say so. This website is built with Next.js, with a server-rendered blog behind it.
Headless CMS explainedYou own the code
A documented repository in your account, with no lock-in to an agency or page builder.
Editors stay in control
A headless CMS with live preview, so content updates don't need a developer.
Fast by default
Pre-rendered pages, optimised images and only the JavaScript each page needs.
Grows with you
Add a store, a portal or an app to the same codebase later.

Still have a question?
Ask us directly — we'll give you a straight answer, even if it's not us you need.
Ask a questionWhy Next.js instead of WordPress or Webflow?+
Choose Next.js when speed, a custom feature or a headless setup matters most — or when the site is part of a larger product. For a straightforward marketing site, Webflow or WordPress is often quicker and cheaper, and we'll recommend that instead.
Which headless CMS do you recommend?+
It depends on your editors and content. Sanity and Storyblok suit teams that want a flexible, visual editing experience; Contentful suits larger organisations; Payload or WordPress suit teams that want to host the CMS themselves.
Will our team be able to edit the content?+
Yes. Editors work in the CMS with live preview, and new content appears on the site automatically — no developer needed for day-to-day updates.
Where will the site be hosted?+
Usually on Vercel or Netlify for the simplest setup, or AWS and your own servers when you need them. Simple sites can be exported as static files and hosted almost anywhere — this website is.
Is Next.js good for SEO?+
Yes, when it's built properly. Pages are rendered as complete HTML, so search engines and AI assistants can read them, and Next.js has built-in support for metadata, sitemaps and fast loading.
Do we own the code?+
Yes. The repository lives in your account, documented, so your own developers — or any other team — can work on it.
